| a really poor quality close up |
Here is a close up photograph of the hematite owl pendant. It came with a black string necklace which was not very durable and hence not suitable for use with a pendulum that I intend to use quite frequently. I can't really complain though, the hematite owl cost me only $5.00. I was probably overcharged, but I enjoy using the piece. Sorry for the poor photo quality, I was limited to my cell phone camera, and as far as photography skills go, mine are hit and miss at the best of times.
A dowsing pendulum does not have to be fancy. In fact, a piece of string and a paperclip or key will work just fine. There is no magic inherent in the dowsing tool anymore than a hammer can contain a carpenter's skill, however that does not mean that a magician who dowses can't add an enchantment of choice to the tool. I believe that layering techniques, tools, and intent can often increase the benefits of and success in most situations. This pendulum does not have any enchantments yet, but I may in the future depending upon what seems most appropriate after more meditation.
I also have a pair of dowsing rods I've made from a wire coat hanger and two used plastic ink pens, but I'm just using them for practice, and they are quite ugly, but functional.
Cheers
